Newly Remodeled 2018 Crosstrek Ramps Up the Fun To Drive Meter

 

The newly-remodeled 2018 Subaru Crosstrek features several new upgrades that consumers will notice when they take it for a drive. According to Tom Doll, COO of Subaru of America, “In its short life, the Crosstrek has become very important to the growth and appeal of our brand.” It’s Subaru of America’s third best selling model behind Outback and Forester. The new-generation 2018 Crosstrek made its North American debut at the New York International Auto Show in April 2017.  

First, it gets the new #SubaruGlobalPlatform with a lower center of gravity for less body lean in the corners. It also gets an updated suspension and improved body stiffness which makes it more stable. 

Improved driving dynamics are the result of the boxer engine sitting low in the chassis, giving it a lower center of gravity. The new rear suspension that mounts the rear stabilizer bar directly to the car body also improves driving dynamics.

Active Torque Vectoring (ATV) makes the Crosstrek more agile. First introduced on the WRX and WRX STI performance cars, ATV is now standard on all 2018 Crosstrek trims. This makes handling more precise, especially when cornering. 

Subaru’s X-Mode traction assist system is now standard on all 2018 Crosstrek trims with the Lineartronic CVT. This feature makes it more fun to drive in the dirt and in extreme off-road situations.
