Local Farmers Markets Offers Fresh Produce & More

 

The State College area has many farmers markets where you can get fresh local produce and other locally made products. It’s a great way to support your local farmers. If you haven’t been to a farmer’s market, you’re in for a treat. You’ll find a great variety of locally grown and freshly made products from many different vendors. For example, an Amish dairy farmer sells fresh milk, as well as handmade yogurt, butter, cheese and the best ice cream you’ve ever tried. You’ll also see works by local artisans. The many food trucks will tempt you with their delicious offerings.

Bellefonte Farmers Market operates year round and is held in the Gamble Mill parking lot from 8 a.m. until noon. 

Boalsburg Farmers Market is open from June through October. They’re located in the PA Military Museum parking lot on Tuesdays from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.  

Downtown State College Farmers Markets features two markets - one year-round, the other from June - November. Both are located on Locust Lane in State College and feature different vendors on Tuesdays and Fridays from 11:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. A sampling of vendors includes Earth Design Farm, Larksmirth Manor Perennials, Demeter's Garden, Deb's Flower Farm, Spring Bank Acres,Moser's Garden Produce, Gemelli Bakers and Valley Grassfed.

Lemont Farmers Market operates from May through October on Wednesdays from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Granary in Lemont. Millheim Farmers Market is open on Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the American Legion in Millheim. 

North Atherton Farmers Market operates from May through November on Saturdays, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the Home Depot parking lot. 

Saturday Farmers Market is open from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. every Saturday, except during Arts Fest and PSU football games. It’s located in the 200 block of S. Allen St, State College
