Whether you find yourself peering into the night sky just to imagine what could possibly be out there, or you enjoy using telescopes to explore the visible unknown of space, Central Pennsylvania Observers (CPO) is for you. Celebrating 20 years as of 2017, Central Pennsylvania Observers is a club of like minded people that take advantage of a clear night sky. State College Pennsylvania is the home of this astronomy club that is welcome to viewers of all ages and experience levels. When, What, And Where
They meet on the first Thursday of each month at South Hills Business School in State College, PA at 7:00 PM. Each month there is a new curriculum planned for the evening with the group. These meetings have activities varying from celestial observing to meteor viewing, and everything in between. A dedicated website (www.cpoclub.com) is available for you to view their schedule and plan how to prepare for your night of skywatching.
A schedule for the whole year is available online so you can mark your calendar well in advance to attend the meeting that best suits you. Don’t forget the solar eclipse happening on August 21, 2017. CPO has everything you need to safely view this once-in-a-lifetime #solareclipse. A donation is required for glasses and for club support.
